What to Expect on Sunday...

No matter which worship service you come to, we don’t think that God cares what you look like on the outside. He’s more concerned about your insides (and so are we). Some people come in jeans, some people come in suits. What is most important is that you come with an open heart ready to receive what God has for you.

Expect God to Show Up - Change to Expect to Encounter God in a real way that will change your life.

What We Do and Why We Do It...

We PREACH AND TEACH THE BIBLE because we believe that it supplies the answers for the deepest needs of humanity. Through the Word of God we are given direction and guidance in order that we may live according to God's will and experience His abundant Life (II Timothy 3:16).

We RAISE OUR HANDS IN WORSHIP in response to God's call to lift up our hands in His sanctuary (Psalm 134:2).  Of course no one is required to do this.  We encourage people to worship as they are led by the Holy Spirit. Raising hands in worship is just one way of worshipping God with all of our heart (Psalm 111:1).

We CLAP IN WORSHIP because we are filled with joy at the evidence of God's hand at work in this world (Psalm 47:1).

We WORSHIP WITH MANY INSTRUMENTS (Psalm 150), WITH BANNERS (Psalm 20:5) and sometimes we BOW DOWN (Psalm 95:6) because of the instruction God gives us in His Word.

We SING SCRIPTURAL PRAISE CHORUSES because they enable us to sing God's Word directly to the Lord and give Him praise (Psalm 147:1).  We sing them together and often repeat them in order that our worship may not just come from our mouths and our minds, but from all of our heart and soul (Matthew 12:33).

We SING THE HYMNS of the church because they draw us into the glory of God through the proclamation of the great theological truths.

We are OPEN TO ALL THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT because we believe that the "perfection" has not yet come (I Corinthians 13:10).   We believe that the Holy Spirit desires to move among us and bestow His gifts for the purpose of blessing.  We believe that the gifts are to be used in line with God's Word.

We STRESS TITHING because it is God's command and we believe that giving a minimum of 10% of our income to the church enables the Lord to supply our needs as He promises in his Word. (Malachi 3:10 and Luke 6:38)

Sometimes we CRY IN CHURCH because we are overwhelmed with the presence of the Lord or we are struggling with a deep hurt or problem.  We believe the Lord ministers to us even in our tears (Psalm 126:5).

We SHARE PRAYER REQUESTS AND JOYS because we believe in the power of prayer and in rejoicing together (Philippians 4:4-7).  These parts of our fellowship are important ways that we support and care for one another.

We ENCOURAGE HOME GROUP INVOLVEMENT because growth in Christian discipleship happens best in small group settings where scripture can be applied to daily living, individuals can be prayed for and encouragement can be received (Hebrews 10:24,25).

We GIVE TO LOCAL, NATIONAL AND WORLD MISSIONS because we believe that God loves all people and we are to do what we can to spread the message of the Kingdom of God (John 3:16 and Matthew 28:19,20).
